Children's Home of York SOAR Program
A clean, verified profile with contacts and key program details.
The SOAR Program at Children’s Home of York offers 24/7 psychiatric residential treatment for youth ages 13-18 facing trauma, emotional challenges, or behavioral health needs. Grounded in Sanctuary principles, SOAR helps teens build self-worth, life skills, and trust through structured care and personalized treatment plans. Each youth is supported in healing and preparing to return home and thrive. SOAR uses a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach guided by Trust-Based Relational Intervention. Teens engage in evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavior therapy, expressive arts, affect regulation, and pet therapy. These therapies, combined with skill-building in areas like self-esteem and healthy relationships, give each youth the tools to grow emotionally and socially. Teens also gain life skills in cooking, money management, and cultural awareness while attending on-site school through a partnership with Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. The ANGEL Center features a Snoezelen Room–a multi-sensory, customizable space that helps youth calm their minds and regulate emotions. This supportive environment encourages confidence, connection, and lasting healing.
