Akeela House is a 48-bed, co-ed residential program that provides long-term, high-intensity care for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Situated in Anchorage, the facility offers access to urban resources while maintaining an environment focused on recovery. Residents engage in structured routines, clinical support, and peer interaction within a safe, therapeutic setting designed to support healing, personal growth, and reintegration into the community. Residents receive individual and group counseling, trauma-informed therapy, and life skills development. A licensed clinical team works with each resident to establish recovery goals, support behavior change, and encourage daily structure. Active participation and adherence to program expectations, including sobriety, contribute to a stable and respectful living environment. The program helps residents access important supports such as Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. These resources help cover basic needs during treatment. All necessary materials are provided, and medications are safely stored for self-administration. After an orientation period, phone access and visits are welcomed, and loved ones are encouraged to take part in the recovery process.
