Cyrenian House - Saranna Women and Children's Program is a treatment home for women with alcohol and substance use disorders where their children can come along. The program uses a strengths-based approach and therapeutic community model of care to foster support and connection as well as individual growth for all women. Cyrenian House is a non-profit organization that has provided treatment for drugs and alcohol since 1981. Treatment methods employed at Cyrenian House include therapeutic and educational groups, counseling, case management, life skills, access to medical services, and parenting support groups. Recreational therapies include a fitness program led by an accredited provider, art therapy, and a creative expression program. Discharge planning and aftercare support are provided to help clients transition smoothly as they continue their recovery journey. The facility is located 30 minutes north of Perth, Western Australia, on 32 acres of bushland. The private location offers a calming environment to focus on recovery, free of outside distractions and stressors. Amenities include a fully-equipped gym, patio area, garden, multiple recreation rooms and lounging areas, a dining room, and a sand volleyball court. Each family has their own house on the property, providing the necessary privacy for family units while still allowing for clients to connect with each other. Children are able to attend a local primary school during their stay, whereas younger children may attend the childcare located on campus.
