This residential treatment center is located in a tranquil and wooded setting, which provides their patients the ideal environment to look inward and begin healing their substance use disorders. Olalla is a small center that can occupy 47 patients. They have two dormitories that are gender-specific. Their residential program is on average 28 days in length, however, the duration of each patient’s stay is customizable based on their needs. Olalla uses therapies that target the healing of mind, body and spirit. While using evidence-based therapies, they also use acupuncture, yoga, meditation, nutrition counseling, psychoeducation from psychologists, as well as Native American spiritual practices if desired. Within their Native American program, the clinicians help the patients move past their addiction and build a new life in a spiritual way. This program may be a good fit for patients who are not receptive to 12-Step programs but still desire spirituality in their recovery journey. Through spiritual circles, smudging ceremonies and the use of the medicine wheel, patients can access the power of ceremony, culture and community while letting go of their addiction.
