As part of Hartford HealthCare, Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare system, The Ridge Recovery Center is a 41,500 square foot state of the art residential treatment facility for adults with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Their multi-tiered approach to recovery involves detox services, intensive residential care, and an extended stay sober living program.
Located on nearly 60 acres, The Ridge Recovery Center offers privacy and a serene environment in restorative nature, surrounded by woods, ponds, and scenic pathways. Residents are offered private, spacious rooms with ensuite baths, chef-prepared healthy meals including gluten free and vegetarian options throughout their stay. Their holistic treatment programs offer personally tailored treatment plans, mental health, social, family, and spiritual support, access to physicians and other expert medical professionals, and community support with 12-step facilitation.
As a separate unit on the building's main floor, patients have access to their discrete and private 16 bed withdrawal management program. The Ridge provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients who are in need of a medically supervised detox from drugs or alcohol, which may include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and acu detox, an acupuncture method involving the ears that has been shown to minimize withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings.
Their residential program is located on the 1st floor, with one wing for women and one wing for men, both containing 18 private rooms. Patients have access to a spacious circular room used for group activities, a dining hall, recreational spaces, a Planet Fitness equipped gym, and additional large rooms for group activities, movies, and games. Activities such as meditation, yoga, and hiking may also take place on the large property.
Their extended stay program is on the top floor, which provides 9 sober living suites for patients who wish to continue living in a sober and structured environment for a daily, weekly, or monthly rate.
The Ridge Recovery offers several programs and activities involving holistic, evidence-based, and trauma informed care. Their person-centered approach offers personally tailored treatment plans that may consist of therapies such as pet therapy, art therapy, individual, group, or family counseling sessions, morning reflection, sound healing, yoga, and meditation. They also offer several group sessions that may cover topics such as life skills, coping mechanisms, identifying triggers, emotional safety, and financial health.
