The Children's Center

The Children’s Center helps children and teens with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Located in Detroit, they support youth from infancy to age 21 through outpatient therapy, psychiatric care, and telehealth. They treat anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, and more. With over 85 years of experience, their care reaches families at home and in school.
Their team uses evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parent-child interaction therapy, and behavior therapy to guide healing. Each child receives a personalized care plan developed with psychologists, psychiatrists, and case managers. They also provide social skills groups, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and trauma-informed interventions to promote emotional growth and stability.
Families are matched with Parent Support Partners—trained caregivers who have firsthand experience raising children with similar challenges and can offer guidance, encouragement, and connection to helpful resources. The center partners with schools and hospitals to reduce barriers to care and help kids succeed. They also offer developmental evaluations, crisis intervention, and telehealth for convenience. Every program is designed to help children thrive at home, in school, and in life.
