About Las Encinas Hospital: Programs, Staff & Mission

Las Encinas Hospital is located in Pasadena, California and is an acute psychiatric hospital that is spread out over 25 acres. There are 3 residential buildings that have 22 beds between them. Las Encinas offers a medically supervised on-site detox that lasts a week. The client is given a psychiatric and psychological evaluation which allows staff to better develop a personalized treatment plan. At Las Encinas, they offer individual and group therapy, CBT, meditation and mindfulness, horticulture therapy, and a peer-led recovery book club. They do not allow cell phones or laptops during the clients stay. Las Encinas Hospital is Joint Commission accredited. Las Encinas offers a Restore to Wellness Program for college students that is designed to help students who are struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues. The long term residential program, The Briar Program, is well-known for specializing in substance abuse recovery. Most PPO and HMO insurances are accepted, as well as MediCare and MediCal depending on the program. Inpatient chemical dependency treatment is covered by MediCal or Medicare, however residential treatment does not accept those. Las Encinas also accepts self pay.
