Offering outpatient treatment for substance use, mental health disorders, and co-occurring disorders, AKUA Strong uses a combination of psychotherapy, medications, and holistic methods to help individuals move towards well-being. They treat adult men and women, and also offer a first responders treatment track with tailored care for firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, and other uniformed individuals. AKUA Strong offers a day treatment (partial hospitalization) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) at their Long Beach location. They offer various groups like DBT, CBT, ACT, trauma, and attachment style groups, focusing on using different psychotherapy methods for various concerns. They also incorporate holistic approaches like acupuncture, tai chi, mindfulness, and yoga. All of their care is trauma-informed and individuals will walk away with practical tools that aid in long-term recovery. AKUA also has a free alumni aftercare program consisting of support meetings, peer support, and alumni events.
