Owned and operated privately by licensed physicians, LifeSync Malibu serves clients looking for a residential healing space for clients with mental health disorders. Clients tend to stay 30-90 days, but the length is flexible.
LifeSync's therapies include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing. Their experiential options include psychodrama therapy, art therapy, music therapy, eye movement therapy (EMDR) to reprocess painful memories, medication management, somatic experiencing, and yoga.
LifeSync's wheelchair-accessible location on Calpine Drive, called the Calpine Residence, includes 6 beds in grand bedrooms, 8 luxurious bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs, outdoor seating and eating areas, an outdoor pool and hot tub, a recreation room, a family room with a TV, and a large kitchen space. This 5,000-square-foot scenic location overlooks the coastal shores of Malibu.
LifeSync Malibu serves clients of all ages. However, they have special resources to help young adults 18-26 navigate work, school, or life challenges related to mental health issues or addiction. Their certified psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists is familiar with identifying and addressing common symptoms like personality changes, rapid weight changes, pupil changes, and risk-taking behavior. Young adult clients participate in therapies to address underlying psychological wounds, build self-esteem, develop effective communication skills, and build trust. For substance use disorders, LifeSync can connect young clients with 12-Step facilitation groups (like AA or NA) or non-12-Step alternatives like SMART.
